PRESCHOOL INFORMATION

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Classes offered vary Monday through Friday.

All children entering the preschool & kindergarten program must be 2, 3, or 4 years of age by September 1st of the current school year.

Johns Creek UMC Preschool & Kindergarten follows a well-rounded, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the Georgia Early Learning Developmental Stages (GELDS). Our Curriculum Coordinator is an experienced and valuable resource on our staff designated to provide extra support to our teachers in all aspects of their lesson planning processes. Additional responsibilities include creating and updating our preschool curriculum, ensuring the proper alignment of all objectives and goals with the GELDS, while incorporating the vast experience and rich resources or our talented teachers as well. Themes and activities are presented in a variety of ways - such as finger puppet plays, flannel board activities, music, stores, social studies, science, and art experiences. Each day is structured to allow alternating time for busy, active play, and quiet activities.

Our loving, Christian environment provides the setting which offers opportunities for each child to grow in the awareness of the love of God.

Children also enjoy special classes like P.E. and Me, Music, Chapel and a number of special events and programs throughout the school year.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS

Chapel is conducted weekly for our three, four, and five year old students. Our two year old friends attend Chapel monthly. Our music teacher, Mr. Ricky, leads the children in singing fun praise and worship songs. Then the children settle down for an interactive, age appropriate Bible story presented by our Children’s Ministry Director, Pastor Tiffany. We close out with more singing and dancing as we praise our Lord and end with a sweet prayer led by the students. Chapel is a wonderful introduction to classic Bible stories that children will continue to learn throughout their preschool years.

After School Enrichment Programs

Enrichment Classes (i.e., Ballet, Lil’ All Stars, Science, Mini Maestros, Junior Chefs, and Yoga) are offered to children in our Threes and older classes from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm through private companies at JCUMC. These classes are not affiliated with the preschool & kindergarten, but we can provide contact information for parents that are interested.

JCUMC Preschool & Kindergarten has limited availability for enrollment after the beginning of each school year. All children are welcome to the Preschool & Kindergarten Ministry!
